JUSTICE FOR THOSE WHO SERVED

Frequently asked questions
Short: We manage the entire DVA process on your behalf, keeping you informed every step of the way. While we assist with securing the medical appointments necessary for your DVA claims, please note that we cannot attend appointments for you. Simply attend your appointments, and let our team take care of the rest. Many medical appointments can be conducted via Telehealth consultations, so you may not even need to leave your home.
Long: We understand your frustration. Dealing with DVA can be challenging, the red tape and bureaucracy serve as unintended barriers by DVA which prevent ADF veterans from gaining benefits and entailments they may be eligible for. The complexities of the process often scares Veterans away from getting their injuries recognised.
That's why we manage the entire DVA process on your behalf, keeping you informed every step of the way. Our team consists of ex-serving ADF members, former DVA staff, and advocates with extensive experience in veteran health clinics. Our team can:
All communication with DVA to be directed though your Advocate (no annoying calls/emails for you)
Conduct a full claims assessment to identify potential claims.
Identify relevant DVA SOP factors applicable to your claim.
Submit all Initial Liability Claims - with your confirmation (ILCs).

While we assist with the above list and more, please note that we cannot attend appointments for you. Simply attend your appointments, and let our team take care of the rest. Many medical appointments can be conducted via Telehealth consultations, so you may not even need to leave your home.

Short: VCA can not guarantee any monetary amount nor can we guarantee that you will receive any financial compensation from DVA. In the event you are found ineligible for financial compensation, you will NOT be charged any fees from VCA.
Long: Compensation varies, we have had numerous ADF Veterans be compensated over $500,000 tax free (not representative of all outcomes*). Compensation is directly related to the assessed severity of your conditions. Conditions on their own do not compensate an inherit amount specific to the condition, rather compensation is proportionate to the degree of impairment. Compensation does not take into account your time in service, meaning longer service does not inherently equal higher compensation amounts. Ensuring claims have been accepted for initial liability under the MRCA legislation is the first step before any financial compensation can be offered.
The team at VCA is highly experienced and well versed in the MRCA legislation, maintain regular communication with DVA (Department of Veteran Affairs) and are connected with many Veteran centric health care providers who specialise in DVA reporting.
We are dedicated to providing exceptional advocacy, ensuring your claims are prepared with care and precision. Our team works tirelessly to challenge any DVA decisions you disagree with, striving to secure the best possible outcome for your circumstances.
Short: Yes! There are no restrictions in place which prevent current serving members from lodging claims to DVA. All investigation can be conducted external to ADF and done confidentiality.
Long: Yes, the majority of the Veterans we represent are still currently serving full time (SERCAT-7) within the ADF. When it comes to submitting claims, delaying the submission may result in less financial compensation. This is due to the age conversion factor, in summary DVA will pay a higher rate of compensation the younger you and a lesser rate the older you are. All investigations can be completed external to the ADF's medical system at no cost to you, maintaining your right to privacy and treatment.
It is common knowledge that there is a negative stigma to members who are downgraded or injured within the ADF. For this reason we connect you with trusted health care provides external to the ADF who also understand the dynamics of military life. If you believe you have an injury/illness or condition, do not wait to seek assistance in perusing this claim. Reach out to our team today for a free DVA claims consultation to learn more about the process.

Long: At VCA, we take pride in our commitment to our clients. We have a strict limitation on the number of clients we take on at any given time. This sets us apart from many other advocacy groups who are often undermanned, leaving you to do most of the work and waiting months for correspondence. We take the worry out of the process by working one on one with you and guaranteeing a response to all enquiries within 24 hours. Our low volume of clients enables us to process claims faster and get you the compensation you deserve sooner, allowing you to move on with your life. With VCA, you can trust that you're in good hands.
The DVA Gold Card is issued to ADF Veterans who are assessed at 60 Permanent Impairment points or higher.
